Used to, rules, examples, sentences in Hindi and English.

Used to का प्रयोग हम दो तरह से करते हैं:-

1. करता था , करती थी , करते थे।

      जैसे - हम साईकिल चलाया करते थे, तुम गांव में रहा करते थे।

2. किसी चीज के आदि हो जाना।

     जैसे- हम लेपटॉप चलाने के आदि हैं, तुम क्रिकेट खेलने के आदि हो।

• 1. Used to - करता था , करती थी, करते थे

Rules:

Affirmative

Sub + used to + v1 + object.

Negative

Sub + did + not + use to + v1 + object.

Interrogative

(Wh) + Did + sub + use to + v1 + object?

Negative Interrogative

(Wh) + Did + sub + not + use to + v1 + object?

Affirmative Examples

तुम स्कूल जाया करते थे।

You used to go to school.

हम तुम्हारे घर पर आते थे।

We used to come at your home.

वे क्रिकेट खेलने जाते थे।

They used to go to play cricket.

शीतल मॉर्निंग वॉक जाती थी।

Sheetal used to go to morning walk.

हम तुम्हें समझाया करते थे।

We used to make you understand.

• Note:- जब हम negative और interrogative, negative interrogative वाक्य में did का प्रयोग करते हैं तब used to की जगह हम use to का प्रयोग करेंगे।

Negative Examples

शीतल मॉर्निंग वॉक नही जाती थी।

Sheetal did not use to go to morning walk.

हम तुम्हें नही समझाया करते थे।

We did not use to make you understand.

तुम साइकिल नही चलाया करते थे।

You did not use to ride cycle.

अल्का घर का काम नही करा करती थी।

Alka did not use to do household work.

वे तुम्हारे घर पर नही आया करते थे।

They did not use to come at your home.

Interrogative Examples

तुम वहां कब जाया करते थे?

When did you use to go there?

क्या वह टीवी  देखती थी?

Did she use to watch T.V?

क्या शीतल मॉर्निंग वॉक जाती थी?

Did Sheetal use to go to morning walk?

तुम उससे कब मिला करते थे?

When did you use to meet with her?

क्या तुम साईकिल चलाया करते थे?

Did you use to ride cycle?

Negative Interrogative Examples

क्या तुम स्कूल नही जाया करते थे?

Did you not use to go to school?

तुम वहां कब नहीं जाया करते थे?

When did you not use to go there?

क्या वह टीवी नही देखती थी?

Did she not use to watch T.V?

क्या तुम उससे नही मिला करती थी?

Did you not use to meet with him?

क्या प्रीति अभ्यास नही करती थी?

Did Preeti not use to practice?

• 2. Used to - आदि हो जाना

Rules:

Sub + is/am/are  + used to + (object) / (v+ing + object) Present

Sub + was/were + used to + (object) / (v+ing + object) Past

Sub + will be + used to + (object) / (v+ing + object) Future

Sub + has/have + been + used to + (object) / (v1 + ing + object) Present perfect

Sub + had + been + used to + (object) / (v1 + ing) + object) past perfect

Examples of all rules are written:

तुम कल तक इस कार के आदि हो जाओगे।

You will be used to this car by the tomorrow.

तुम इस कॉलेज के आदि हो।

You are used to this college.

हम पढ़ने के आदि हो गए हैं।

We have been used to studying

शीतल ऑनलाइन क्लासेस की आदि हो गई हैं।

Sheetal has been used to online classes.

वे कार चलाने के आदि हो गए हैं।

They have been used to driving car.

रोहित पतंग उड़ाने का आदि हो गया था।

Rohit had been used to flying kite.

हम उससे बात करने के आदि हो जाएंगे।

We will be used to talking with her.

वे कार  चलाने के आदि नही है।

They are not used to driving car.

रोहित पतंग उड़ाने का आदि नही था।

Rohit was not used to flying kite.

तुम उससे बात करने के आदि नही होंगे।

You will not be used to talking with her.

हम वहां जाने के आदि नही थे।

We were not  used to going there.

तुम इस कॉलेज के आदि नही हो।

You are not used to this college.

तुम कब तक पढ़ने के आदि हो जाओगे?

Until when will you be used to studying?

क्या वह इस कार की आदि नही हैं?

Is she not used to this car?

हम गांव जाने के कब आदि हो जाएंगे?

When will be used to going to village?

क्या स्नेहा उससे बात करने की आदि नही हैं?

Is Sneha not used to talking with her?
